My life used to be consumed by anxiety of wondering what I “should” be doing. It wasn’t until a good friend of mine pointed out that “should”s always come from external sources. Well-meaning friends implying I “should” get out more, social pressures that I “should” live a certain way, you get the idea. I was making myself miserable. There are only “want to”s and “have to”s, aside from those remaining in the moment has been the highest form of freedom I have found.
